Bio

nader_portraitWhether an artist or not, we are all in a search of spiritual gold.

Iran, the land of ancient magus and alchemists, is where I was born. During the last four decades, I have lived in the US.

Regardless of birthplace or country of residence, the ‘Universe’ is one verse and one short life in which we search for the forever-elusive gold of spirit, lapis within. The search, the quest, the life journey is much more important than the destination. Discovering along the way gives meaning to the going-concern: here now, gone tomorrow. “The clock is running. Make the most of today. Time waits for no man. Yesterday is history. Tomorrow is a mystery. Today is a gift. That’s why it is called the present.”

Education: BS and Masters in accounting and CPA, which led to controller and CFO positions. Currently, I am a painter and published author, doing exactly what I believe I am meant to do and say here on this earth. Alchemy has been a great aid in revealing to me who I truly am and has shown me the importance in searching, no matter how partial and incomplete it may be.

At six when I could read, I read every book in sight. At twelve, I wrote my first novella: “The Black Colt of Chicago.” Love of books lead to a love of images and eventually, the art of painting found a permanent place in my heart of desire.

What am I searching for? Omar Khayyam spoke eloquently to that.

Omar Khayyam: Translated by Edward Fitzgerald

Ah love! Could you and I with Him conspire
To grasp this sorry scheme of Things entire,
Would not we shatter it to bits—and
Re-mold it nearer to the Heart’s Desire!

With a little help from my friends, the spiritual helpers, my search is for imaginative creative expression to remold nearer to the heart of desire.
